Project Description

In the Fall of 2005, it became apparent that
the procedure for Medicare Part D enrollment was very
confusing to many seniors. Members of the Senior Surfers Computer Club, working with the Newark Senior Center and the local RSVP (Retired and Senior Volunteer Program) arranged to provide free counseling and on line computer assistance every Wednesday afternoon for over six months to local residents. We were able to use the Senior Center computers and the Medicare web site to facilitate this effort. Over 100 seniors took advantage of this program. The Senior Surfers Computer Club was the subject several news articles in local newspapers including the March 13, 2006 Delaware Crossroads section of Wilmington's - The News Journal. Congratulations to all that helped provide the assistance to the greater Newark Senior community!
