Bob
Bloom steps through the things you should (and
shouldn’t!) do to maintain your Windows computer.
We’ll start with data backup, proceed through
updates, file and system ‘cleaning’, and if you want
that squeaky fresh polish, defragmentation and
registry cleaning. Although we will concentrate on
keeping it simple, familiarity with the Windows File
Explorer (i.e., “My Computer”), File folder
structure, and basic mouse operations will be
assumed.
This will
be held in the class room, space is
limited and the fee is
$5. Preregister by sending email to
education@nscseniorsurfers.com
NOTE: Early start time!! |

E & B Graphics
Elaine Drain & Barb Greer |
 |
|
Learn about what
clip art actually is. Is a font
considered clip art? Clip art can be
defined in many ways. Barb and Elaine
will explain all this – definitions,
uses, legal stuff. Free images are fine
for personal use but unless you know the
original source, you risk downloading
unlabeled, copyrighted images
inadvertently leaving your computer
vulnerable to uninvited guests, like
spyware. Learn how to avoid those
“bugs”. How to find, download and
install fonts will also be covered, as
well as how to do a “print screen”. You
will be provided a handout of links to
free (for personal use) resources known
to be from royalty free collections. |
